Hmm where to start? First it’s WAY too long with WAY too much repetition. It was difficult to read in parts due to poor use of language and unnecessary military acronyms. Why for instance the fascination with shouted codenames? Felt like the author was trying to show off. Well it didn’t work, in fact quite the opposite (and I’m former military). The portrait of an “Elite” Rainbow Force was truly laughable (why even base it in Hereford?). Straight out of an All American Marvel comic more like! Having said all that I pressed on and eventually finished the book. Some of it made for a gripping tale and the overall plot had real potential but even that was spoilt by some ridiculous premises. Complex circumstances related to the plots progress were founded on events which believe it or not might even have been possible if only the author had crafted them more carefully with greater detail and a believable background. But no, too much time was spent on tedious and frankly boring detail (and repetition) without enough substance to the key points of the story. In conclusion a poorly written, verbose, inadequately researched book. How can an author write so many words yet leave so much out?
