The film, a fictional account of the West Memphis 3, got slammed by a lot of critics because this film didn’t add any new information that was already presented in several documentaries over the years. Colin Firth and Reese Witherspoon did a very good job in their roles as two of the protagonists of the railroading of the West Memphis 3. In drama, as opposed to documentaries, the director gets to propose emotional discussions between various characters and in this I believe director Atom Egoyan and his actors did a very fine job. By the way, this is film’s story is one more example of how corrupt police fabricate and obfuscate to convict (and nearly execute) innocent Americans.
