I really enjoyed this deliciously twisted and creepy Agatha Christie adaptation. Crooked House is one of Agatha Christie's own personal favourites. Crooked House is a stand-alone novel, without Poirot or Marple or any other recurring characters. The autocratic, wealthy patriarch of a very dysfunctional family is murdered and a young man who is connected to the family is called in to investigate. I thought Glenn Close, Christina Hendricks and Gillian Anderson were all superb. The setting and costumes were wonderful. A nice sense of dread and foreboding develops throughout the movie. I thought the chase scene at the end really took away from the final twist ending, which is presented much more shockingly in the book. It is not as good as the book, but it is still very good.
