Disappointing drivel without good action to make it stand up. In an action movie you want to get lost - Suspension of Disbelief. Nearly every scene has a shallow plot device that just has my head shaking - which means I'm out of the movie and into my head, disbelieving. Direction is terrible, with actors all playing over the top in a cartoonish way. Cruise features himself prominently in the flick, and his facial expressions, empty but passionately delivered lines and stoic determination to persevere against the whole freaking world grow increasingly tiresome as the movie drags on. Fight scenes show numerous flaws in fighting technique and missed opportunities. All in all: flat, confused, simple minded and missing any real focused drive in the plot. This is a bullet to the back of the head of Cruise's Ethan Hunt.
