The second book in the Amory Ames Mystery series. I found this book an enjoyable read. It does not match my personal list of "great" mystery authors, Dorothy Sayers, Elizabeth George, P. D. James, James Lee Burke, Tony Hillerman, Dick Francis, Rex Stout, Sjöwall and Wahlöö ( Martin Beck ), Ngaio Marsh, Val McDermid, Louise Penny, and of course Agatha. I also have read everything by Robert B. Parker ( gotta love Spenser), Sue Grafton, Henning Mankell, Jonathan Kellerman, Michael Connelly ( Bosch), and too many more to mention. Alas, as you can probably tell, I am now 70 and many of my special favorites have left me. I still use mysteries as my "brain candy" and found this one to be a light pleasure. Recommend.
