Ozzy is a legend, an icon and whatever, but his post-Sabbath solo career is spotty at best. Recorded during a "blizzard" of drug and alcohol abuse, this is his third album and first since the death of guitarist Randy Rhodes. For the discerning metalhead, this is not very metal at all, lacking the heaviness, darkness and menace of Sabbath. The songs are decent, as is Ozzy's singing, but it's over-produced with big guitars and slick keyboards, which makes it sound more than a little like Meatloaf. Great cover art though.
