Be on the alert as you read this book. The first 400 or so pages make a lot of sense. His understanding and knowledge of these 2 Greek philosophers is credible and I can easily agree with how later history adopted their ideas.
HOWEVER, don't be pulled into that old conservative trick of getting you to agree with some things and then tossing you a few bizarre curve balls out of nowhere. The latter part of the book reads like a Fox news commentary. The strangest comment is when he says in a matter of fact way that free enterprise is what won world war two. Herman neglects the fact that rationing, the war production board and the planning of battles and diplomatic meetings also played a role as well.
