This is a very good book that effectively details the emotional transformation of a girl who is originally rather petty and judgmental. Although you may be irritated by the main character at first, she will become more relatable as her opinions about the world around her begin to evolve and she discovers what is really important in her life. Also, the whole point of the book is to make the girl's transformation subtly obvious to the reader, so be patient with the main character as you read.
