This whole series is a blast start to this rather satisfying finish, but I can't help but feel like there's a missing book's worth of epilogue. Or maybe a missing second series' worth.

Or I just want more Tavi and Kitai and crew. Hard to say.

With the exciting conclusion to the Codex Alera series, Butcher certainly does not disappoint. Characters and story lines drawn across the series are brought together one final time as a desperate alliance fights to hold off an unprecedented threat to not only Alera, but the world itself. Longtime fans of the series will certainly appreciate the care Butcher has taken to wrap up loose ends as he closes up shop, though there are more than a few hints that there may be more stories to tell in the Codex Alera someday.

An excellent end to a fantastic series. Still leaves the (unlikely) possibility of a continuation to the series if Mr. Butcher ever felt so inclined. Sorry to see the series end. Agreed the ending is somewhat anticlimactic, but I did fell he did a good job of bring the series to an (open-ended) close.

Jim Butcher writes very interesting and well thought out stories. This one is no exception. I did find myself feeling like the ending was slightly anticlimactic. It could just be the fact that I don't like endings.
