Very dated and slow, could not stay with it.

Also, unfortunately, no subtitles or closed captioning, so dialogue was nearly impossible to follow.

Simply not up to the expected standard of British TV series. The pattern is familiar - multiple balls in the air, snappy editing between the sub-plots - but the premise stretches credulity. Why does a senior CPS gal turn up at all those crime scenes and spend so little time in court? We managed to watch two episodes but then packed it in as not worth the effort.

“Helen West”: good enough to watch all the way through all 3 mini-movies and hope for more.

Picked this up because of Amanda Burton - loved her in Silent Witness. Here she is a Crown Prosecutor.

Great plot - evil unfolds layer by layer.

Well done British series - well worth watching

Helen Mirren, make room : your Det. Chief Inspector Jane Tennison has found a worthy successor! Enter Amanda Burton as sleuth Helen West -- with the usual strong British supporting cast. Like your women smart, strong but sometimes...just all too human? Welcome to these Casebooks.
