This book has plenty of projects that could be fun to do with older kids or teenagers. I wouldn't recommend many of the projects for really little kids. Two of the most useful things I found about the author's approach: 1) she really simplifies things so even beginners could feel more comfortable trying these out for the first time; and 2) with each of the Methods she describes, she includes "why this method will make you happy" and "why this method might make you sad" -- basically a straightforward pro and con list for each method.
