From key novels to memorable protagonists, admired authors to pivotal books both banned and beloved, this compilation features an expert selection of events, awards, scandals, and sacrifices. Find out how literature as we know it has been shaped not only by leading writers, but by quirks of fate, meetings, love affairs, and moments of despair and death. The full title of this book is "Defining Moments in Books" and features a large collection of key books, passages, authors and events stretching from 1890-2007. Each entry is short and fairly easy reading. That said, I still skimmed through this, reading entries as they caught my fancy. Good book for book-lovers everywhere.
