Schines brilliantly funny new novel revolves around one city block in Manhattan. In her book, as in life, canine companions compel their masters to go outside of themselves, to take part in the community they live in, to make friends, and, sometimes, to fall in love.

Schine spins a charming tale of love, friendship, dogs and families in a tiny one-block-long community in the big city. You are in for a treat, a wonderfully urbane and fully human take on modern life.

In an upper west side neighborhood of NYC, the lives of several dog owners intersect.

I was suprised that I liked this book as much as I did because its more introspective than action packed, but it was really a lovely book! The intertwined stories of the characters really kept it interesting and descriptions of the city block and the park were great - really made you feel like you were there. Overall, highly recommended.

An exquisite book. I read at least 100 books a year and this is one of my favorites.
