Out of the ashes of his violent past he's emerged today as a Georgetown professor, living a quiet life, retired from danger-until he narrowly escapes the bullet of a faceless assassin. And when two of Bourne's closest associates are murdered, Bourne knows that his legacy has followed him-and set him up as prime suspect for the brutal crimes.

The quicksand of lies and betrayals is deeper than Bourne ever imagined. The first of the new Jason Bourne novels. After Ludlum's original trilogy, people thought that that was the end of Bourne. In 2004, the Ludlum Estate gave Eric Van Lustbader the go ahead to continue the adventures of Jason Bourne. This is the first of those and goes about it well. It's very readable, and manages to keep the feel of its predecessors very well. When Bourne is framed for murder, the quest for the truth takes him from DC, to Paris, Budapest and Iceland. Very good, very enjoyable read. Fans of the character and fans of the genre probably won't be disappointed.
