And while some might think it a bit saccharine, I think it works. One reviewer called Blackall’s artwork “dazzling” and I agree. This book explains to a would be alien what to expect during a visit to earth. In a time of much loneliness and division, it gives a lovely message of all the things we humans have in common with each other -- we get hungry, we get cold, we are busy, we keep learning, etc. The illustrations really stood out for me. They are whimsical, intriguing, and captivating. The page with the birds has left a lasting impression on me.
