Earl Stone is a man in his 80s who is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive. Easy enough, but, unbeknownst to Earl, he's just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. Even as his money problems become a thing of the past, Earl's past mistakes start to weigh heavily on him, and it's uncertain if he'll have time to right those wrongs before law enforcement, or the cartel's enforcers, catch up to him.

Lots of edge of your seat moments as Earl Stone (Clint Eastwood) step by step gets himself in over his head. His new found form of income has very serious and unforeseen risks.
The fun moments were fun though... and the sad ones, quite sad. Great job.

Another great Eastwood movie. Fun modern twist for an old dude to run drugs for the cartel.

Another great Eastwood film, about a broke man( set in his ways) with nothing to lose, who goes to work for a drug cartel.

Wasn't sure what to expect from the almost 90 year old icon. But the film is brilliant and Eastwood is terrific in the lead role!

Clint Eastwood, just the very best! If his name is on a movie, acting or producing or both it is always good. I really enjoyed this movie. I'd give it a 10/10 anytime!

Who doesn't like Clint Eastwood!
It's not Gran Torino, but still, entertaining.

Spoiler ... Slow paced movie that offers a different perspective to how seniors might participate/benefit in the illegal pharmaceutical industry.

Very good. I liked the songs Clint chose to sing during his drug route. No one could have played it better. If they ever do another Hank Williams movie Clint would be perfect for the role, a good look alike. Not much money in day lilies. Don't recall which one was Clint's daughter. Andy Garcia had a beautiful gold plated shot gun for clay pigeons.

The idea that Eastwood continues to involve himself in his career as a director and lead actor is great. He is older, but mind you, an actor, so it is great to watch him in the physicality of 'old age' as far as movements, speech. Earl, Eastwood, is a failure at most things in his life except for hybridization of day lilies. He is even losing his house. He is not at all involved in internet, texting or digital data. I found it hard to believe that someone would be so naive as to be a mule, but this guy is really out of touch. In the end, it was Earl who continued his illegal activity. I felt he craved approval and financial success in his life and this is why he continued his activities. I liked the good nature of the character. Good strong cast and art direction. His own daughter plays his daughter in the film. I enjoyed it & I feel it worth the watch. Not for you if you are expecting a lot of special effects and explosions.

Earl Stone: It's just time is all. I could buy everything, but I couldn't buy time.

Some quotes by Earl in IMDb but this one from Mary on her love is most poignant:

You were the love of my life and the pain of my life. I need you to know, it's all the world to me that you're here.
