Add a CommentAn introductory approach at gender for young ones. Definitely a little vague, but focuses on Tilly's emotions as she is scared to tell her human friend that she does not identity as a male teddy and wishes to be called by Tilly rather than Thomas.
This simple, warmhearted look at gender identity is a good first book on the topic, easy for all children, not just kids in the LGBTQ community, to understand.
This is such a sweet book, and a wonderful way to introduce young children to different genders.
I LOVED this book and I think it is a beautiful way to introducing children to LGBTQIA topics. I loved how kind and gentle this story was, and I loved how accepting the characters were. Introducing Teddy is just a very beautiful, smart book that teaches gender in such a simple but effective way. Highly recommended!
