I love Irish writers. William Trevor is outstanding. Lovely, haunting prose.

William Trevor is a writer whose prose is exquisitely astute and who always manages to get to the lonely, aching part of the reader’s soul. In his newest novel, he has illuminated an act of childish rebellion that reverberates down through the lives of an Irish family. They seem unable to move beyond the calamity. I turned the pages with trepidation and hope, waiting for one of them to move from loss to salvation.
