Intention was to make a comedy. Wishful thinking. Stop giving giving Melissa Mccarthy crap comedy projects. She's talented but her people are failing in her project choices.

A mother goes to college.

Skip the cheap knockoff and watch a far superior "Back to School" (Rodney Dangerfield).

A silly laugh out loud movie. Typical Melissa McCarthy!

Slightly funny.

This movie held my attention from beginning to end, and had a couple of reveals within the movie that made it feel like it was worth my time. The first reveal was probably the funniest point of the movie.

As a guy watching a chick-flick, obviously I'm not going to resonate with what is an older woman's fantasy. Being as objective as I can be for such a movie, I still think some scenes were just way over the top and more crazy/silly/uncomfortable than funny, and doesn't send that much of a flattering message.

Silly, predictable, implausible plot. Melissa McCarthy is always a joy to watch; it's a shame she doesn't have more to sink her teeth into here. There were some fun moments but overall I can't really recommend it. Maybe things have changed, but when I was in college the last thing in the world anyone would have wanted was someone's mom hanging around seeing what they were up to; least of all, their own.

Not funny at all. Not interesting, either. Watched the 1st hour and decided it wasn't worth finishing.

Okay, definitely not McCarthy at her finest. I felt she was indulging her ego as she is in every scene, and was obviously given carte blanche on this project. A few chuckles, but overall a tepid effort.

This comedic movie features many famous female leads such as Melissa McCarthy, Gillian Jacobs, Maya Rudolph, Julie Bowen, and many more. The movie is about a housewife whose husband just left her, so she decides to return to school and figure out more about herself. To her daughter’s dismay, they are attending the same college. I will say, that at some points throughout the film Melissa’s performance was more awkward and cringey than it was funny or endearing, which did make for some uncomfortable scenes. But, overall the movie was pretty entertaining and does guarantee at least a few laughs. I would rate this movie 3.5/5 stars. @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
