Totally disappointed with the choice of songs. This group is losing its celtic uniqueness and identity.
Once again the wannabe Disney princes have failed to inspire me. I was sorely disappointed with how they sing covers, particularly the song "Galway Girl". They lack oomph where it is needed, and try too hard to a point of silliness when it not. Furthermore, the majority of the songs that I had the unfortunate privilege on listening (both CDs) did not sound Celtic at all. In fact...they sounded Country. NO! This is unacceptable. No offence to those that like Country music, but when I wish to hear something Celtic, I expect that the album that I am listening to adheres to that genre. I'm sorry to say this but I felt Celtic Thunder X was all over the map for me, and I am starting to dislike them even more now. If you like this group, more power to you. I think that the only half decent song on the entire album was "The Crow on the Cradle".
This is a great album filled with originals and covers. The musicality is good all throughout. The songs themselves however vary in quality over this deluxe 2 cd edition. (I almost took off a whole star for the abysmal "Galway Girl"...)
If you're looking for some stand up Celtic tunes, this is a great place to start!
