Message is don't mess with the tough logging Braven family who are capable and prepared to fend off intruders in their lives. While the script was about a take-no-prisoner invasion of a remote cabin, the actions are so-so and the few twists seem manufactured. Nonetheless, give the actors and crew the stars for filming in the wintry Newfoundland, Canada.

Only made it through 15 minutes or so of this. Although it appears some people know who this Mamoa guy is, I have never heard of him. If you like action films, I guess you will like this one. I don't and I didn't. If we were in the 60's, this one would have been the late show out at the drive-in on the highway.

Hallmark Christmas movie must be jealous over the amount of real snow scenes In this movie. I liked the story of the family man defending his family against the brutal drug dealers. The father's dementia was presented well, and the little daughter was adorable, and spunky.

Got more than I expected. Worth watching.

I too viewed this with low expectations, however felt it was pretty good story and some decent acting, although some very typical shallow character "bad" drug dealers.
Watching Jason Momoa (Conan the Barbarian: 2011; Justice League; 2017), with some more acting range, was nice to see, as was for Stephen Lang (Avatar: 2009; Don't Breathe: 2016) - although maybe all not that much range.
Special features had 10 minutes of interviews with the actors and talked about filming in cold Newfoundland.

I enjoyed it despite low expectations.

It's fun. It's typical Hollywood family man vs some bad dudes with automatic weapons shlock. Fire, bullets, snow, threatening the lives of family members etc etc. But it has a secret weapon.

The Bearded Wonder Bro himself, Jason Momoa! (happy sigh)

Honestly this man could film himself knitting a sweater for three hours and I would happily binge watch it. So you know I am going to be a little biased about what comes next. That being said, I can promise you exactly eight things.

In this movie, Jason Momoa will...

- Get Wet
- Climb a cliff
- Take off his shirt
- Bleed
- Be a goof in the most endearing way imaginable
- Wield a flaming tomahawk (because why not)
- Be very cold by subjecting himself to below freezing temperatures to get that perfect shot (you'll know it when you see it)
- Scowl thunderously at something behind the camera operator
- Look fantastic while doing all of the above despite the fact that his character should have died from hypothermia half-way through the film.

The only thing missing from this film is a incredibly large bear or wolf showing up at some point to snarl at the camera. Alas, this isn't Game of Thrones. But hey, it's a fun night on the couch with a bowl of popcorn so hit that play button and enjoy.

Twice there were "Hollywood" fires--you know a truck that burns without damaging anything near by or exploding, and one where a very old wooden cabin is filled with flames but never actually burns or fills with smoke. Little girl is a hero, and bad guys with automatic weapons die at an alarming rate when faced with a bolt action rifle and some homemade weapons, father-son angst. However, there were good roles for Jason Moamo , Steven Lang and Zahn McClarnon so the thinness of the plot and the bad special effects worth watching them. this is not an intense thriller, but it is a fun popcorn movie.
