This book has a very intriguing premise: the author talked to his friends about their creepy fears and illustrated each one. There are about 100 fears in the book, ranging from the incredibly bizarre to the genuinely terrifying. The book made me think about the psychology of fear, and left me with a few new fears stuck in my head.

Fears. We all have them, but this book exposes them in a way that is, for REAL you guys, super-charming! Each page has a fear that was submitted to our author/artist from, I guess, someone real. You can find them in the acknowledgements in the back. Then Mr. Krause "brings them to life" in a way that is amazing! Some fears, like putting on a shirt that has a spider in it, are simple (and NOW one of my OWN fears, thank you very much), but others are nuanced, like notions of only existing as a figment of someone else's imagination. It's a fast read, but for all its simplicity and fun, I found myself setting it down at times to think about what I just read. Don't be afraid to take a look... The fears aren't going to bite.
