I wish the author had provided some ballpark figures to frack a well in North Dakota versus Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado. Also, a lengthier discussion on the aftermath of the Bakken shale oilfield boom would have been helpful. In particular, infrastructure costs such as road construction, hospitals, schools, utility services, police, fire and ambulance service. The photo section should have included changes to Williston. A new subdivision, an apartment complex, a new hotel, a new shopping center, the new airport and bypass construction should have been illustrated. IMHO, I would rate "The New Wild West" at 4.0 stars.
