Reflections in Pictures and Poetry

Book - 2017
Rate this:
Off the most northwestern point of the continental U.S. shared by both Canada and the United States is an inland passage called the Salish Sea. The authors of this book take you on a pictorial visit to this part of the country which includes coves, bays, inlets and seaside villages of the San Juan Islands in the U.S., Canada's Gulf Islands and the coasts of the Canadian and the Washington State mainlands. Each spectacular photograph is accompanied by a poem written in the style tradition of Chinese couplets, zen koans or Taoist free-verse encouraging the reader to reflect, contemplate and merge with the spiritual essence of the sea. Diane Lau & Gary Cordrey extend an invitation to you: "When you need a break from your busy life, spend some time with us. We'll walk along the shore: talk, laugh - at times, just enjoy the silence. We'd be honored by your presence ... glad that you came."
