Misaki Ayuzawa has enough problems being the first female student council president of the formerly all-male Seika High School. When cool, aloof and oh-so-handsome Usui Takumi discovers that she's also a waitress at a local maid cafe by night, things get very interesting, very quickly! Toss in an organized crime cartel, a handful of extremely annoying transfer students, and the inevitable trip to the hot springs and everyone is bound to end up in hot water one way or another.

This is a fantastic series. What Avantel says is only partly true. Men are portrayed as being aggressive and dumb and lazy for a time, but that is because this show is seen partly in the point of view of the main character, Ayuzawa Misaki, whose father abandoned her family leaving them with large debts to pay. She has a negative view of men, so the show depicts them as such. However as the show goes on, she begins to reform her opinion and the view of men changes.

The cast of characters-both male and female-are diverse, but no, not a whole lot of them have unrealistically large boobs. Sorry guys. It's realistic, their boobs are proportional.

Overall, the anime features round characters, decent animation and voice acting, and a rather interesting plot. It is not without it's issues or clichés, but is well worth the watch.

This is a “shojo” anime or anime for girls. This explains why none of the characters have big sexual features, only pretty faces. The Japanese show is as sexist against men as any western show by portraying men as lazy, dirty, dumb, aggressive yet weak while women as portrayed as neat, disciplined and diligent and victims of men. Miza, the main character is of course the exception, she is a strong woman. Yet, the show is still comic and many otakus should watch a bit if this show to get a good idea about women's fantasies and desires. Many male animes present legions of women falling all over-heels only because a guy is nice. “Maid Sama” is a reality shot..for many men; many women need their own. PS Spoken only in Japanese with English subs, the real thing!
