A short, clear-eyed account of the author's years drumming in the influential feminist punk band. I really appreciated how the author balanced talking about the more equivocal politics they sang about--sexism, capitalism, abuse--alongside more implicit forms of oppression and conflict she faced as a Xicana who'd grown up relatively poor compared to many of her peers.
