Thirteen-year-old Peter Paddington is overweight, the subject of his classmates' ridicule, and the victim of too many bad movie-of-the-week story lines. When Peter's nipples begin speaking to him one day and inform him of their diabolical plan to expose his secret desires, Peter finds himself cornered in a world that seems to have no tolerance for difference.

I only gave the book two stars because it wasn't bad, it was just okay. This book is endearing in that most people have felt like the awkward one outside of the main group; this book is for the underdog in us all. Had funny moments; like some of the conversations between Peter and Daniela, but otherwise a little long-winded. Went a bit too long with the nipple metaphor. It' a book that I wouldn't discourge anyone from reading, but I also wouldn't highly recommend it.

Peter is a very likable character in this book . Very humorous and enjoyable book. Couldn't help but sympathize with Peter at times and glad that his Dad understood some of his awkwardness eventhough his Mom didn't And Peter's quirky friend ( girl ) was an interesting character also .

Peter is a very unique character, who's going through puberty. He's an easily connectable character with odd friends and strange ideas. Very funny and entertaining novel.

Yes, this should be what our book club/s read/s (and his new book marvels as well).

This is sincerely one of the funniest books I have read in my life.

Peter Paddington is a gay kid with a lot on his mind (and his chest). Through his eyes we see the mostly hilarious and sometimes heart-breaking reality faced by many teens as they begin their arduous journey through puberty.

FRUIT is heart-warming book that highlights just how precious, genuine, courageous and amazing our LGBT youth really are.

I purchased this book for myself, and after having read and loved it, have passed it on and bought several copies for friends.

This book re-ignited my love of reading.

A great read from an Ontario author. Laugh out loud funny. It's hard not to fall in love with Peter and his nipples. There wasn't a single character I didn't like.

A very funny story about Peter, an overweight 13-year-old boy suffering through his last year of elementary school hiding his nipples with masking tape and a tensor bandage. Fruit = cherry nipples. All the characters were a blast, and the plot was so authentic, I was completely drawn in to relive the angst of growing up. This title was a finalist in the Canada Reads 2009 competition.
