My first Lisa Unger book and I am hooked. I loved the Ian/Megan/Priss triangle. This book kept me thinking about the characters when I wasn't reading it and after I was finished. Loved the supernatural twist, it was very believable, especially if you have ever dealt with any type of spirits or haunting and small town politics/tragedy. The ending was a little too hunky dory but overall a great read. I'm going to read "The Whipering Hollows" now because the whole "Hollows" backdrop and characters are very interesting,

It was OK reading but dragged on a bit. The whole supernatural element was a little stagy. I think a story of a man pursued by a vengeful ex-girlfriend would have been just as interesting and a lot more believable.

On the contrary to the back cover reviews, I did put the book down because it did not kept my attention throughout, though I managed to finish it. When I wanted this book to be over, it didn't. The conclusion took too long. Other than that, I enjoyed the idea and especially the protagonist because he felt real to me.

I like Lisa Unger and her style of writing but this wasn't the stay up all night page turner it promised. A good read and although I love mystery/thrillers, I do hesitate when it deals with the occult. Does capture your interest but I found towards the end of the book, you just wanted it to be over. I think I would have preferred a different ending too.
