one of these films has james mason in it; another was taken from a novel by spymaster eric ambler. they all look extremely good, albeit they are b and w. there were many jobs for actresses, too; just look at the castlist. can't tell what the difference is between American noir films and british: perhaps the british films are more conscious of ww2.
