New York Times-bestselling author Stephen Singular has often examined violence in America in his critically-acclaimed books. Here he has teamed with his wife Joyce for their most important work yet-- one that investigates why America keeps producing twenty-something mass killers. Their reporting has produced the most comprehensive look at the Aurora shooting yet and draws upon the one group left out of the discussion of violence in America: the twenty-somethings themselves.

In the controversial 2002 film "Bowling for Columbine" Marilyn Manson told Michael Moore that if he had a chance to address the parents of those who died in the massacre as well as the kids who survived, he would have not said anything - that he would have listened to the victims because the media didn't. This book demonstrates nothing has changed in the years that have intervened. Teens and twenty-somethings are the most affected by gun violence and / or are the most prone to commit violence, but no one is listening to them either. This book gives them a voice. It's a good book, but my rating is due to the fact it gets tedious too often.
