One by one, the members of Stage Dive have fallen in love. First David, then Mal, and even Jimmy. But Ben refuses to fall into the same trap. The burly bassist for Stage Dive enjoys his no strings attached lifestyle--one of the perks of being a rock star. Everything changes when a familiar face from the past rolls back into his life. Lizzy was still in college when her overprotective sister--and Mal's beloved wife--whisked her away from the group's bad boy. But now all bets are off, and this time Ben has his sights set on settling down. Can he convince Lizzy to take a chance on him?

Something about the story of Lizzie and Ben did not convince me that there was a real connection or drive to be together other than sexual attraction. In fact the sex in the story was boring too. I was unable to finish it. No stars.

I think I've put off writing this review in part because I know that will mark the end of this series. I loved this series. I hadn't expected to love it this much, but the characters grew on me and I became a fan of Scott's writing. So much so, that I started to read her backlist of titles while I was waiting for the next Stage Dive novel to arrive.

The plot of this book (and of the others in the series) is not particularly unique, but somehow, Scott is able to tell a conventional-ish story that doesn't cause my to roll my eyes. Is it the characters? Is it the rock star setting? Is it the humour? I honestly can't say exactly, but my feeling is that it is a mixture of all of those things. What I do know is that I have a place in my heart for Mal and Ben and hope that her spin-off series will allow these two to wander in from time to time.
