This is one of my all time favorite books. It teaches us how to love the way God intended.UNCONDITIONAL. James Frey is an incredible writer, he shows his talent in this book. I have read it several times and will a few more. GREAT read. Shove your judgmental opinions up yours.

I see lots of people complaining about the writing.... People, this IS James Frey's writing, and he's doing a damn good job! I freaking love his writing style! It's so pure and honest and to the point. Like he said in an interview, "I had stripped away everything I felt was unnecessary. I had removed most standard punctuation. There were periods denoting sentence breaks but no commas no quotation marks nothing that didn't need to be there." Nothing that didn't need to be there. It's his style! If you don't like it then don't bother reading his magnificent work.

What would the Messiah look like if he came today? The author gives us his answer, he brings us a Messiah with supernatural powers. People began to believe in this Messiah because of the signs.

This is an interesting and exciting idea. The idea and concept of a modern Messiah is interesting. In spite of that this book is boring.

The author is a disappointment. The miraculous Messiah with godlike abilities tells us, "there is no God".

A shallow worldview trying to look modern. One star.

dont waste your time...while i am a fan of james frey.....this book was written and published for shock value only as well as the way the book is presented like the bible....the writing is horrible and is just written to piss people off but coming on the end it just is horribly written....not worth the time to read it

Okay, firstly don't read this book if you're a huge fan of the first two testaments as you're probably going to get so mad you'll burst a blood vessel.
However, if you don't belong to that group then you're in for a pretty good read. I really like what James has to say about religion and its hijacking by the religious and I applaud his messages about simply living a good life and being a good person and loving others. However by the second half the message was getting a little laboured for my liking.
I really like James Frey's irreverent messages. The man is worth reading.

I would not recommend this book to anyone. Writing is horrible.
I am shocked it was even published , not because of the subject, but writing.
