Tells the comedic story of ageing partners Freddie and Stuart, two men who have lived together in their Covent Garden flat for nearly 50 years. Freddie was a budding actor and Stuart worked in a bar when they first met, but their careers are pretty much over and their lives now consist of entertaining their frequent guests, making sure that their aged dog Balthazar is still breathing, and hurling caustic insults at each other.

Stuck with it through the first 2 episodes and called it quits. Nothing seemed connected somehow and we get enough of the 'vicious'ness in our lives everyday to waste leisure time watching more.

This is a wonderful, hilarious series! You can get through each season in an evening's viewing time (for optimal results, check out all three at once!) and have tons of new insults to try out on your friends and lovers. Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi are perfect together, and the supporting cast is all magnificent (Penelope is my favorite). This is a series I could watch over and over and still be entertained and highly amused. Or fall-on-the-floor laughing, whichever works.

Content warning for some off-color jokes and a touch of insensitivity, as well as a bit of light bad language.

Cliched? Yes. Obvious? Yes. But when you have two A+ actors delivering those quips, it's hilarious and entertaining. It's a comedy show and the point is to be amused and it delivers.

We weren't sure about this when watching the 1st episode, but are so happy that we chalked that one off as a "pilot" and continued to watch. It is hilarious!

When I first saw an episode of this series I thought it was awful. Truly, embarrassingly awful. About 40 years out of date in its bad stereotypes and cruelty-as-attempted-humour. I watched another episode more recently, and change my opinion to "sad." Sad that three superb actors would stoop to making this kind of drivel and try to pass it off as edgy and ground-breaking. :(
