The oldest of seven daughters, Ruth Schrock has grown up believing that her uncompromising deacon father has never approved of her independent nature. When Ruth is asked to teach in a nearby community, she jumps at the opportunity -- feeling that God has given her a chance at a life of meaning. Ruth never could have guessed that her new path would lead to shy Levi Yoder. Can these opposites find a path they can walk together into the future?

I can't get enough of the Amish books.
I love them and they remind me of the olden days I grew up.The are such clean books and very fascinating.

I am 24 and from a scientific background, so I was surprised how much I was drawn to this book. It is simple and sweet; at first I thought it would be too religious and possibly lame but it was neither. If you want to escape the rat-race of modern city life, here is an enjoyable story that reminds its readers of something truly basic and crucial to human happiness: positive connections with others.
