Good book, but rambles on at some points.

(The first book in the Troy Chance series)
1st of a series – A child is rescued after a fall from a ferry and no one reports him missing. A fast-paced and we;; thought-out mystery.
I enjoyed the book overall, as a piece of light reading, though it has a fair share of unrealistic resolutions and blatant random coincidences. Beach reading.
Sara J. Henry gave us in her debut a remarkably fresh story that captured me from page 1. Even not believing some of Troy's innocence, I found her naivity refreshing. It was a good book with good characters and a wonderful story line.
She does have a second book out, "A Cold and Lonely Place". Just came out last month and also features Troy as the main character. So looking forward to it arriving at the library!
Sara Henry writes a compelling story; I hope she continues to write books.
Although a debut novel, for which I might grant some leeway, I thought this novel was just 'too pat.' The characters, in my opinion, do not act the way one imagines they would. The heroine is apparently a pretty savy chic but she does some stupid things that don't seem to fit such an independent, educated person. Just not my style I suppose.
