TEENREVIEWBOARD below has a excellent review. Definitely a five star movie that took my family on a high stakes adventure. It always amazes most of us the risk that some are willing to take for the thrill they find in the activity. I will watch it all from the safety of my living room. Very enjoyable and no risk at all!!

127 Hours is about the story of climber and adventurer, Aron Ralston. On a solo trip to Utah’s Blue John Canyon, Aron finds himself stuck between a rock and a hard place. After slipping on a loose rock in the canyon, he falls, and his arm ends up getting trapped by a boulder against the canyon wall. Stuck, he considers his options and does everything he can in order to return home. This film is based on the true story told by Aron Ralston himself in his book appropriately named “Between a rock and a hard place”. The movie was directed by Danny Boyle and stars James Franco (Aron Ralston), Kate Mara (Kristi Moore) and Amber Tamblyn (Megan McBride). To me, this movie tells such a great story of perseverance and determination. James Franco’s portrayal of Aron Ralston has been widely acclaimed for its accuracy, and it shows. I often had knots in my stomach because of how gritty his acting was. 127 Hours is a brilliant film with incredible acting and true storytelling that is nearly a 1 to 1 copy of how it really happened. I give this movie a 4.5/5. @Sans of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

I too felt this somewhat long, but I think it was more to show the ordeal that this man faced being alone for five days, with little chance of being found be anyone.
His ability to stay alive and get free is truly extra ordinary strength of will. Kudos to James Franco.
Warning for the squeamish, just look away when need be, doesn't ruin it for anyone.

Hard to imagine this survival story is based on real events and people. Unconvinced? Apparently there have been others: Al Hill of Iowa in 2007, Colin Jones of Australia in 2003, Jonathan Metz of West Hartford-Connecticut in 2010 and likely more cases worldwide. Still not convinced? Watch the documentary with the real Aron, his mom, hikers he met, the rescuers and Aron's life since in "Search & Rescue: Actual events that aided the search and rescue of Aron Ralston." For vivid dramatization and outstanding cinematography of the spectacular vista of Utah's Canyonlands National Park with Franco, watch the video ... and always answer and returned mom's call.

"Mom, I love you ... and I wish I had returned all your calls..."

Amazing story about survival.

This is a true story / accident , every part of it is correct , it is well worth watching. If you watch to a little bit before the credits you even get to see Aron Ralston ( the person that this movie is about ) . My score for this movie is 6 stars or 7 stars out of 5 stars.
He must have felt like he had been put through basic training for the special forces. When you see Aron Ralston you see a few things. He did not loose his whole arm , I will not tell you anymore than that more. I think that this is a good tell what happened movie.

This is a 2010 survival docudrama directed, co-written, and produced by Danny Boyle, based on the real events.
It is about canyoneer Aron Ralston who becomes trapped by a boulder in an isolated slot canyon in Blue John Canyon, southeastern Utah, in April 2003.
When I viewed it halfway through, I suddenly remembered to read the news about this incident.
What an unlucky accident and a terrible outcome!
What a pity!

I dont get why people put 'boring', well no kidding, how do you think Aron felt? I personally think it was perfect because it makes you feel bored, scared, insane, lathargic & the many other emotions that Aron went through.
I was totally impressed & would never go anywhere without telling someone where & when to expect me back.
I truly hope those who find this 'boring' at least get the lesson from it, if not, they're hopeless.

Liked this movie, but didn't. I always have a difficult time watching a director try to bring to the screen, someone's hallucinations, which was a large part of the movie. Not to mention, the visually "artistic" manner in which drinking water and/or urine is filmed. Interesting, and worth watching, but at certain times, a bit distracting.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: There's alot of gore! I remember near the end, me and my friends looked away, and were screaming! We weren't afraid of the horror movies we watched, but that one scene was very gory!

Aron Ralston: You know, I've been thinking. Everything is... just comes together. It's me. I chose this. I chose all of this. This rock... this rock has been waiting for me my entire life. In its entire life, ever since it was a bit of meteorite a million, billion years ago up there In space. It's been waiting, to come here. Right, right here. I've been moving towards it my entire life. The minute I was born, every breath I've taken, every action has been leading me to this crack on the earth's surface.
