My son and I watched this as a thematic follow-up to Avatar: The Last Airbender and were not disappointed.

The animation and endnote documentaries are a bit dated, but the story still shines through; starting out as a "simple" quest for gold in the New World it rapidly transforms into something wonderful and strange. Great music, voice acting and concepts, some of them rather adult and nuanced. Good guys and bad guys aren't always so easily determined and, while there is no gore or blood, there are some on screen deaths later in the series.

I'd recommend for ages 7+, with adult accompaniment.
