This is an incredible story of a group of school boys who were hacking into the US military at the dawn of the Internet. Set in suburban Melbourne in the late 1980s, it follows a teenage Julian Assange and his gang of friends, the International Subversives, as they try to break into the computer systems of the world's most powerful organizations. Hoping to uncover the inner workings of these groups, the boys wage battle from their bedrooms.

Unfortunately, this isn't on hand at the Seattle Library [but should be!] and is an excellent presentation. To date, the UK government allowed Gen. Pinochet to exit there, even though he was guilty of thousands of torture-murders or murder by torture of the most heinous type imaginable, while they are persecuting and continuing to contain WikiLeaks' Julian Assange for exposing the torturer/murderers!
Sure anyone can understand the amoral party here! [I believe Assange was the first hacker to write a public port scanner?]

Many surprises in this film "Underground" about the true teenage life story of Aussie, Julian Assange, the creator of Wikileaks. J. Assange, a teenage computer hacker with a network of teenage hacker friends, targets the USA instead of his Aussie homeland, and is successful in breaching the USA's top military classified security (shown in the film to be not that great a security system), causing the USA and Aussie police to have a manhunt for him. Overall, the film insinuates that J. Assange is a bit naïve and maybe afraid to cyber attack the Aussie military or Aussie industrial computer system, by his focusing on the USA.

Desert storm, '89, a hacker's paradise. Shoddy security, Commodores, dial up, MS DOS. Interesting (obsolete but) very interesting!

Julian Assange was an early whistleblower (def.: someone who tells the public things the government does not want you to know). A very well-told story about a man with a conscience who is still today being persecuted for revealing government crimes. Enthralling film

The film is about the younger years of Wikileak founder Julian Assange. Somehow the story was not terribly interesting.

Even for the time period, the kid was pretty smart, but up to a point, if you're to view this as an accurate docu drama, obsessive.
