Philip K. Dick wrote a novel called "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" From it was produced a movie called "Blade Runner," based loosely on the plot of Dick's book and with a significantly different message. I say this notwithstanding the fact that Dick approved the final script.

My question is: is this particular product, "Blade Runner by Philip K. Dick" in audio form, an audio version of "Do Androids Dream..." ? Or is it an audio version of the movie soundtrack? If anybody reads this and knows the answer, I'd appreciate an answer. Thanks!

This movie's message is not about "how we treat each other," as the previous commentator puts it. It is about "variants" on the original human DNA, e.g. genetically designed improved performer humanoids. In this film they say they were created to be used "on other planets," but (haha), were not humans used on this very planet as slaves just not so long ago? In fact, in 2003 in a Radio Canada (French) broadcast, in the "Years of Light" (Les Annees Lumiere) Sunday program there was a 30-minute summary and interviews from a 2-day Colloquium from Laval University (Quebec) and I recorded this program on tape. The Colloquium was about "The Dangers of Genetics" and it was about a report of the Bio-Ethics Commission of Bush Jr, which said that the present working people shall be improved to enhance performance and make them selfless and peaceful. So those "variants" are planned to be created and they will replace the present working class. The title of the Bush Commission's report is: "Beyond Therapy - Bio Technology for the Pursuit of Happiness." Employers will give preference to the improved humans, so mothers will agree to the intervention of their ovules, to have an offspring genetically modified. This film is about these kind of humans. The movie shows that the new superslaves' lifespan is planned to be rather short, up to 36 years. The hermaphrodites and clones are coming, guys! Watch the movie "The Sixth Day" with Arnold. Clones will not be our best friends but rather our competitors for employment.

A film that bears repeated viewings, relevant to our times and all times: How we mark out and treat "the other" is a significant theme.
