Something about this series keeps drawing me back despite me despising at least half the main characters. But the world building and the mystery of the spider priests fascinate me.

Great book. Great characters. Great dialogue. Great series. Abraham has established himself as my favorite Fantasy writer. The way he writes fantasy and creates a fantasy world is so human and seamless. There is a distinct lack of physical action in this book, and in this series in general, which could turn off some readers. The strength of this book, and the series, is the clever world building and fantastic characters. The series feels fresh and the books fly by leaving me wanting more. I will anxiously await the next installment. I didn't like this book quite as much as the last book because Marcus seemed a bit downplayed and there was less physical action.
