I have enjoyed Devon Monk's other series, but I just couldn't get into this one. I think it has to do with such a heavy emphasis on the technology that, for me, it got in the way of the plot and relationship elements of the story. If you're not a technogeek or into steampunk, then this might not be for you.

Just as good as the first, a perfect blend of steampunk ,fantasy and adventure, and well written, The Age Of Steam is one of the best series i've ever read.
