After President Dwight D. Eisenhower left office in 1961, he retired to a farm in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Living next door was his teenage grandson, David; they would be neighbors for the rest of the decade. Based on personal stories, letters, diaries, and the reminiscences of Eisenhower's closest friends, this memoir is both an intimate chronicle of the elder statesman's final years and a coming-of-age story.

My god where are these bygone presidents' that look out for the good of the NATION!!.
The current GEO political system international & home are only looking out for the pocket book. The passage of the BELOVED president is traced though the eyes of diaries, grandchildren & the people working closet to him.
He lived way pass seventy eight with the help of nitroglycerin & the Walter Reed medical team--its a government hospital for the political elite.

Where will Eisenhower show up next...I guess its hard if nations are impervious to Industrial complex ……five stars moral history

The book was interesting but not the narrator of the book on tape. His voice put me to sleep. Not safe for a car ride!
