This was basically a book about nothing. You can essentially sum up the entire story in 5 minutes and then you wonder why it took the author so long to tell it. I also never really got a sense for the world that they were suppose to be living in nor really understood how Stephen could possibly keep making such bad mistakes without learning from them - also "really? you live on the road fighting for your life each day and you can't fight nor shoot AT ALL????"

It is written as juvenile & listening I can definitely fell that, but I did rather enjoy the story. Some part were very 'young' however I found it plausible. This is the type of sci-fi I can deal with.

Amazing! I was skeptical at first thinking this was just a retelling of McCarthy's "The Road". In many ways it is, but it shows more hope and a more human aftermath of an apocalypse.
