My 2 year old thinks this book is so funny. We used play-doh to reenact the scenes. She laughed so much.

"It was good. The problem with the snake was a small problem. But I still liked it."
Review from my child (age 7).

I think Willems' writing and drawings are as funny as my 2-year-old does. This early reader book is also good for toddlers.

My kids want to read this every night! I thought it might be too young for them (5, 7 yrs) but they LOVE it. I have to agree, it's hilarious... All the stars!

i read this book to my 6 year old brother and he has read almost all the books. he really really likes it and i hope this author (mo willems) will write more. my little brother is a developing reader but he can easily read his books and i just realized that he's reading it right now

The Geisel Medal winning series, "Elephant and Piggie," rarely disappoints. In one of the best yet, Mo Willems uses wry humour and perfect pacing to teach a valuable lesson on friendship and flexibility.

As Gerald and Piggie prepare to play catch, they become dubious when Snake slithers up asking to join. Snake feels dejected by his friends' response but Gerald tries to explain that he and Piggie DO want to play with Snake, it's just that they're playing catch. "With our arms," he elaborates. "So?" Snake responds and awkward silence follows.

The moment resolves as the three friends try to play catch together, with many predictable BONKs ensuing. Finally, Piggie has an idea (complete with illustrated light bulb) that provides the ideal solution. Willems's page turns and speech bubbles yield multiple chuckles but also provide guidance to kids navigating friendships with those who have differing abilities.

Mo Willems books are so great! Very funny and simple. My 4-year-old son loves all the books of Elephant and Piggie (and the Pigeon ones). Sentences are simple. Very good for begginer reader.
