I borrowed it from a friend. This book is AMAZING. For those of you who love the Halo Universe, this gives great insight on the events before Halo: Combat Evolved. You can even see the transition from John going from eager military super star intent on winning to stoic super soldier rather quickly (at least, that's how I interpreted him to be). Definite must read for Halo fans every where! The games make so much more sense as do a lot of the cut scenes if you go back and play the older games :)

Could've made the part about the orbital dock a little bit more detailed but still a great book

This is the best book ever out of all the other Halo books. The beginning about Johns childhood was just the best. It's really interesting.
