I have fond memories of this show from when it was first aired on network TV. It's too bad that it just doesn't hold up. The pilot episode was decent. The other episodes were a bit of work to sit through. Dated. Unable to suspend disbelief. No character development. That it is inoffensive is not a big enough reason to watch this show.

I really wanted to like this, but I couldn't tell if it was meant to be a parody, or if it all the stereotypes were unconscious. Also, the plots were way too complicated for me. Took too much concentration for effective escapism.

It has 1970s hair! And 1970s clothes! An 1970s big name stars, character actors, soon-to-be stars, and faces you know but just can't place! This is tremendous fun before you even get to the plots--which are good, or the comedy--which is slapstick on one end and droll on the other. No blood, no guts, no sleazy sex scenes, just a romp with two crime fighting, jogging, octogenarians. (The cast change between the pilot and the series is jarring, but actually a very good choice.)

Ever wonder what it would be like to see Helen Hayes and Alice Cooper in the same Made-for-TV movie? Wonder no more, because here it is. Every episode of this collection is hoot. A cornucopia of familiar faces from 70s TV and film are here. Bert Convy is on the house!! What a good time!
